Is Channel Nine’s commentary really all that bad?
Well, yes it is according to The Guardian’s Geoff Lemon.
I caught up with him to chat about his article that tore strips off the way Channel Nine are missing the opportunity to do commentary properly.
Before you go any further, click the link and read it. Read it twice. It took Geoff a month to write and every word will resonate.
How do I know this?
Because when I last checked, the piece had been read over and amazing 250,000 people, shared nearly 30,000 times and has nearly 700 comments.
That doesn’t happen unless there’s some gold in those paragraphs.
After you have taken a look and feel a little angry, disappointed and let down, then go ahead and listen to my interview with him.
Also, he’s very tall. It’s important that I put that out there.
Finally, don’t share the article with Channel Nine’s Director of Cricket Brad McNamara. He’s blocked everyone on twitter who has.
A true professional.
What’s funny is that he has Google alerts set up to tell him when someone writes about him. That means he will find this interview.
Enjoy Bradley. I hope you choose to learn from it.

Really interesting podcast (and article) – both on the money. Hard to see why they are appealing to the lowest common denominator when the LCD seems to be repelled by the TV coverage. Maybe they are just there to entertain themselves.
Interesting to note that the whole tone of the coverage has changed for the CWC – seems like Star actually want some analysis and commentary.
In other news, the Wikipedia page for the Director of Cricket has been locked for editing following persistent vandalism. The public have spoken.
